Mistplay Review
Misplay is a great app for people who love mobile gaming. If you play games like candy crush, brick smasher, word games, or clash of clans type games, you need to be using this app. Get it here.
Here are my ratings for how good this app is:
Ease of Use – 9/10
This app is super easy. All you have to do is download it and follow the instructions. It spells everything out for you.
Is Mistplay Real
Available Games – 6/10
My biggest complaint with the app is that there aren’t many games on it. There are about 20-30 games, and it’s true that many of them are similar to the most popular mobile apps, so that’s great if you love those types of games.
My favorite mobile game is the one where you have to figure out the saying from the picture, and unfortunately, I couldn’t find that through Mistplay.
Ads/Interruptions – 7/10
A lot of the negative Mistplay reviews you will see are about the ads. People will say that there are too many ads, and it affects the gameplay. Obviously, there are ads, but I didn’t find it to be a problem with every game.
I think most of the ads and interruptions are tied to the specific game rather than to Mistplay. Only one game that I tested out was unplayable due to the ads (unfortunately it was “Stump Me”, the game that was most similar to the picture games I enjoy). Some games had very few ads, others wanted me to post to Facebook every five seconds, and still others had an ad after every level. Again, this varied greatly depending on which game I played, so it seemed like it was tied to the game more than to Mistplay – which is why I rated the app itself so high.
Redemption – 8/10
Redeeming your rewards through Mistplay is easy. You earn units through playing games, and you trade those units for gift cards. There are no additional hoops that you need to jump through.
Money – 6/10
Mistplay is not that profitable. But you can earn some extra money by using it. I think that for what it is, it actually pays quite well. After playing with the app for just a few days, I already have enough money to redeem a five-dollar gift card. This is never going to be a lucrative side business, but it’s a great way to get paid to veg out.
Storage – 2/10
My biggest issue with Mistplay is that the games are not “in-app”. In order to start playing a game, first, you have to open Mistplay, then choose your game. But you can’t just open the game and start playing. You have to download the game separately, then go back to Mistplay to open the game. This led to me downloading quite a few games onto my phone, taking up valuable photo space. However, if you’re going to download these games anyway, then it isn’t much of an issue.
Battery Use – 8/10
Using Mistplay and playing these mobile games didn’t take up as much battery as I would have thought. Most of the games have “battery saving mode” so they don’t drain your phone’s power while you are playing. This was a pleasant surprise.

How Much Can You Make from Mistplay?
You are not going to get rich with mobile gaming. In fact, you won’t even make real money with Mistplay. But what you will earn is units, which are redeemable for gift cards.
If you are trying to earn extra money to make regular purchases with Mistplay, you can redeem your units for either Amazon or Visa gift cards. But if you are using Mistplay to support your gaming habit, you can also redeem them for a Google Play, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, or even Gamestop gift card. A few other options, such as Starbucks, Itunes, and eBay are also available.
The most expensive gift card you can purchase with Mistplace is $50, and you can only redeem that much at Nintendo for 15K units. Most other stores allow you to redeem up to $25, and those are 7500 units apiece. One thing I appreciate about Mistplay is that it costs the same amount of units for any of their retail partners. 7500 units will get you $25 at all of their partners, there aren’t special “unit prices” for certain stores.
The lowest amount you can get in a gift card is fifty cents, which costs 400 units.
How Long Does it Take to Earn?
How quickly you earn depends on what games you play and how often you play. Mistplay has a “boosted game” feature, and if you play the games that are boosted, you earn extra units.
I played a silly game, Blast Fever, for a few hours while I was vegging out in front of the TV and earned 200 units. I tried out one of the boosted games for about 10 minutes and earned 200 more. It was nice to be able to earn units faster with the boosted feature, but unfortunately, most games are only boosted for a few days.
What is the Fastest Way to Make Money with Mistplay?
The fastest way to earn money with Mistplay is to play the boosted games when they are available. You will earn extra units by playing these games, and that will add up quickly. Unfortunately this means downloading a new game every time one is boosted, but if you just want to make a quick buck with Mistplay, this is the way to do it.
Can you Actually Win Money Playing Games?
There’s a difference between winning money and earning money. Mistplay isn’t a gambling site. You don’t win anything. However, you do earn units when you play games.
There are a few casino-slots type games available on Mistplay, like Pop Slots. But these aren’t real gambling games. You don’t bet real money, and you can’t redeem the coins for real money. You can, however, buy coins to play with as an in-app purchase, but you don’t gamble those. You also don’t earn money through the game itself, you earn through the Mistplay app. There’s a lot of nuance involved, and it depends on the game, so you have to read the fine print with any game that you decide to play.
What Games Give You Real Money?
You can earn real money (in the form of gift cards) with any game that you play through Mistplay. Each game has a different level-up system that determines how much you earn.
You can also earn real money in the form of bonuses just from using Mistplay.
What are the Limitations with Mistplay?
Like anything, Mistplay has limitations. My least-favorite feature is that you can earn gems by making in-app purchases. You can then trade in those gems for additional units, which go towards earning a gift card.
My issue with this is that it makes people spend money to get money. Please don’t complete any in-app purchases just to earn gems. It is not worthwhile. The only way this would ever be reasonable is if you are going to make in-app purchases anyway.
I also don’t like that you have to download each game individually, as I already addressed. That part is truly annoying.
The final limitation is that it’s only available through Android. If you use Apple iOS, you are out of luck.
Overall-Is Mistplay Worth it?
Overall, Mistplay is definitely worthwhile. It’s way more fun than taking online surveys in your spare time, and a great way to make some extra money in your spare time doing something fun (or mindless). Obviously, you are never going to be able to quit your day job with Mistplay, but it’s a great option to make some quick cash.
Is Mistplay Legitimate
If you play mobile games anyway or download mobile games to keep the kids occupied – you should definitely get Mistplay. If you’re going to be using these games anyway, why not earn a little money while playing? Be sure to monitor your children’s use of it though – I’ve heard horror stories of kids charging thousands of dollars in in-app purchases. Be sure they know not to buy anything through any mobile gaming application they might be using.
Other Ways to Make Money Online
If you’re looking to make more money, Mistplay may not be the app for you. There are quite a few ways you can make money online or through side hustles, and if you need more than a hundred dollars a month or so, Mistplay is not your app.
Instead, you can get a part-time job, freelance, become a virtual assistant, try dog-walking, or start a variety of other side hustles that will help you earn money in your spare time.
If you want to focus on making money gaming, you can sign up for Twitch and work towards being a Twitch affiliate. The great thing about the online world is that there are thousands of ways to get paid doing something you love online. The opportunities are there, you just have to find them.

I hope to answer all of the nagging questions that you have about Mistplay. I will show you how many hours you have to play to earn gift cards. I will show you the best ways to optimize your playing time to earn as much as possible, and I will show you my results so you have a good understanding of what to expect. Let’s start with the very basic of questions: How much do you make on Mistplay?
It took me 19 hours to earn my first $10 Amazon gift card using the Mistplay app, and I earned my second gift card in about 16 hours of gameplay. So, on average I earned about $0.57 per hour playing games on my phone with the Mistplay app. Want to earn gift cards by playing games on your phone?
There are a few tricks to earning those gift cards faster. Read on to find out more.
Here is a screenshot of the first time I earned enough to get an Amazon gift card by playing games on Mistplay:
As you can see, it took me 19 hours and 43 minutes to earn exactly 3000 units. A $10 Amazon gift card (or a Visa gift card, or GameStop, Xbox, Google Play, PlayStation, Itunes, Starbucks, ebay, or Nintendo gift card…any of those $10 gift cards) costs exactly 3000 units that you can earn on Mistplay by playing games on your phone.
Let’s add some more numbers before we break them all down. Here is a screenshot of when I broke the 6000 unit barrier.
I was able to earn the second card faster for a number of different reasons that I will get to in just a minute, but first, I want to take these numbers and see what we can extrapolate if I were to earn the same about an keep it up for a month or more.
If you were to play games on Mistplay for 10 hours a day, you could theoretically earn $5.70 per day by playing games. That would be about $171 for the month. Or more precisely 17 $10-gift cards. With a few units left over to start building for next month.
Remember, when I say “play” games, I don’t mean you actually have to be playing the game. You can interact with your phone just enough to keep the screen from going black. I currently have a game going on my phone as I am typing this post and I just touch the screen every minute or two. It’s not entirely passive, but pretty close.
Don’t use auto-scroll apps on Mistplay! It is against the Terms of Service and they will ban you!
How do you Earn Units on Mistplay?
It’s easy. You download Mistplay on your smartphone. Then you set up a free account. Once you have your account setup, you choose a game to play and you play. But here’s the thing, you don’t really have to play to earn units on Mistplay.
That’s right, I have a slots game on “auto-spin” right now, as I write this. You see, Mistplay pays you units for the amount of TIME you are on a game. You only have to interact enough to keep your screen from turning off. I have loaded a game and just sat in the lobby and have leveled up on Misplay.
So, to earn a $10 gift card, you don’t actually have to sit around for 16 hours playing games, you just have to have your phone on Mistplay for that long, which reminds me. It’s best to have your charger handy if you plan to spend this much time on Mistplay. Lightning baccarat evolution. It will run your battery down!
Back to earning Units. There are dozens of games to choose from, but they are ranked by Mistplay. Some earn units at the regular rate, some at half the regular rate. Some of the games you can earn units at 4 times the regular rate and Mistplay also “boosts” some games for a short time where you can earn up to 8 times the regular rate.
Here is a chart on how long it took me to earn units at the regular rate. (Keep in mind that you need to earn 3000 units for a $10 gift card)
At this rate you may think, that it would take forever to earn 3000 units, (and you would be right) but keep reading and see how you can double, triple, or even octuple your earnings!
What are GXP and PXP?
GXP is just a fancy way of calculating how long you spend on a particular game. For instance, you need to earn 500 GXP to move from level 1 to level 2, which I found out takes about 5 minutes. As the levels go up, so does the required GXP (time) needed to move to the next level.
PXPs are the total experience points that you, as the player, earn across all games. As these points add up, you will level up as a player and earn more units.
How can you Earn Units Faster on Mistplay?
There are several ways to increase the number of units you earn while decreasing the time you need to spend on the app. First, you will want to choose a game with the highest “unit multiplier.”
Each game on Mistplay has a unit multiplier, shown in 0-4 dots. A game with 1 dot will earn units at the rate in the chart above. A game with 4 dots will earn 4 times what the chart above shows. For example: If you play a game with 4 dots and go from level 1 to 2, you will earn 20 units (5 units multiplied by 4 dots). So, it just makes sense to play games with more “dots”.
Second, each game offers different bonuses specific to that game. For instance, you can earn 5 units for simply playing 20 minutes on most games.
A third way to “boost” your unit earnings is to play games that Mistplay boosts for a short time. From time to time, Mistplay will double the number of units you can earn playing a game. As I type this post, Mistplay is boosting the Big Farm game. Normally, the game pays 3x the regular amount of units, but for the next seven hours or so, it will pay 6 units as you reach each level. So, when I go from level 1 to level 2, instead of just 5 units, I will receive 30!
The last way you can maximize your unit earnings on Mistplay is to play for at least 5 minutes a day. At the end of each week, Mistplay will reward you with extra units each week if you don’t miss a day of play. These bonus units are capped at 35 units a week at the end of your 5th week. After your 5th week, you will earn 35 units every week just for playing 5 minutes a day. These are in addition to the PXP and GXP
Limitations on Earning Units on Mistplay
One thing you have to be aware of is that Mistplay will stop awarding units after 2 hours on one game. This resets each day, but you will want to make sure to keep track of the time so you are not playing a game and not getting credit because of the 2-hour limit. It’s easy to keep earning, though. Just switch games when you hit the 2-hour limit. Then you can repeat the process the next day.
Watch out for Battery Drain. Mistplay will drain your battery quickly. So, if you are going to have it running all day, you will definitely need to be near a power source.
Final Thoughts
I have written a couple of posts about Mistplay. you can readIs Mistplay Legit? if you want to find out a little more. But one thing I mentioned in that article is that Mistplay should be used for what it is. You can drum up some money ($150-$200) in a month, which isn’t shabby for just messing with your phone, but there are a ton of ways to make way more money.
